Rather paint figures than trees!
When and how did you become an artist?
I joined an art club about eight years ago after I retired from theatre nursing. I started painting in watercolour but since have moved onto acrylics, oils and pastels. I dabble in silk painting, encaustic wax and Lino cut although I have never exhibited any of these works...yet!
Who or what are your inspirations and why?
Jamel Akib has really inspired me. I used to be very precise...painting every little detail but he has taught me that just a few brush strokes is much more effective. I still lean towards realism in my painting but am learning. Jamel is a very talented artist who spends all his spare time searching through art to inspire his pupils.
Tell us your favourite joke... :-D
I've been to a lot of places, but I've never been in Cahoots. apparently you can't go alone. You have to be in Cahoots with someone! I've also never been in Cognito either. I hear no one recognises you there. I have, however, been in Sane. They don't have an airport. You have to be driven there. I've made several trips!!:-)
