Art on the Street/Norden Farm launched a joint initiative to raise money for Tommy's by raffling a two weeks of exhibition space in the Norden Farm gallery to artists! The are extremely proud to annouce that the winner is Gemma Collins and her show (featuring guest artist Denise Saiyai of Buttercup Designs) will be held from 1st to 12th August. Congratulations to Gemma and we are also very proud to say that nearly £300 was raised by the prize draw!
A scorching Friday saw the Art on the Street team and friends take on their latest challenge - The three ENORMOUS plate glass windows opposite King Street
Market are now crammed with beautiful artwork that truly complements the scrummy sunshiney weather we've been enjoying recently! A big round of applause to the gorgeous Harri (pictured) for custom-designing the hanging system from scratch - impressive stuff!
All work is obviously for sale (prices are marked on each piece). If you would like to make a purchase (go on...you know you want to!) then all you have to do is call us on 07749 407533 or email email@example.com and we will arrange
for you to own a glorious piece of original artwork at the end of the show.
Art on the Street aren't known for resting on their laurels!
If you would like to show/sell your work in Maidenhead Town Centre on an ongoing basis then we need to hear from you!
We are looking to fill THREE (yep, THAT MANY) very visible spaces in Maidenhead Town with fine art of all kinds (including photography, sculpture & ceramics).
In the usual spirit of Art on the Street work going into these spaces will not be vetted, but each space has different requirements due to display limitations. There is NO UPFRONT COST to sell your work in any of these spaces. To get involved and find out more you can contact us.
About The Spaces:
Space 1: Traditional 2D Fine Art & Photography of all sizes. Can be for sale or
just for show. If work is for sale there's a 20% commission that goes to charity. Space Accomodates a maximum of 20 pieces of assorted sizes ranging from about 8" x 8" upwards.
Space 2: Lightweight, unframed work on canvas in any medium (including printed photography). Canvas should have painted edges, as they will be exposed. Preferably with a dominant colour in each piece, but not essential. This is a very new space for us so we would prefer as much work as possible to experiment with, but not all work submitted may be used. You can choose to show or sell and there is no commission to be in this space.
Space 3: We would like small artworks of all kinds, well-presented and of a broad spectrum of prices. Work in this space must be for sale, as it will be an open shop for a minimum of three days a week (tbc). There will be a reasonable administrative fee (once again tbc) taken from every sale, as we are expected to pay heating and lighting on this space. However, this is open to negotiation if you are able to give over some time to work in the shop.
Feel free to share this with anyone you think may be interested. This is an ongoing project and a great opportunity, so we will need lots of fresh work!
In a, frankly, BIZARRE turn of events the weather has returned to where it was before Art on the Street - dull, grey and rainy! We had a truly wonderful day on Saturday. The sun shone and music played as artists sold work all over the town.
At the end of every event we ask participating artists to give us their feedback on their experience of Art on the Street and all future decisions surrounding the event are based on this.
We've listened and as a result grown, evolved and developed. Whether you took part or were a visitor we'd love you to share your experience with us. You can send us feedback through our contact page completely anonymously until the end of the month. Please help us shape AotS for the future.
Art on the Street May 2012 has come around so quickly! The big day is tomorrow and we're all feeling a little emotional at AotS HQ!
