She won the space as part of our prize draw that we held at our last event in May in aid of Tommys,
Over the last eighteen months several of our Art on the Street family
suffered terrible experiences and losses. We were heartbroken with them and felt
that we needed to do something to show our support. We called Norden Farm and
asked them if we could raffle off a two week stint in their gallery (usually
worth around £200 per week) and despite their own current financial worries,
they agreed with us that the experiences of these brave women and their families
put it all into perspective. we sold a 100 tickets during the booking period for
Art on the Street in May and raised £300 for an incredibly good cause and
hopefully raised a bit of awareness too.
Gemma's show features the work of Denise Saiyai, who helped us
kick off this fundraising campaign in support of her twin sister. Denise is a
childrens illustrator and art teacher from Maidenhead who creates gorgeous works
of childrens art in mixed media.
'Growing Stages' will run until 11st August.
