She has been commissioned to work on portraits and sketches. Geetanjali is currently working on 'Warli Art Form' and has successfully exhibited her work in Berkshire and Surrey. As Warli Art is not often seen in this part of the world, Geetanjali's work has generated a lot of interest and excitement.
Warli Art originated on outskirts of Thane district, Maharashtra (India). It dates back to 10th century AD and is still alive. These Mural paintings are made by 'Warli' indigenous tribe on special occasions like birth, marriages and lastly to decorate their mud houses.
The materials are found very locally. The wall of the hut serves as their canvas which is covered with red mud and cow dung. They use a binding of fermented rice paste ,water and tree gum to form the paint. The tribe lives very close to nature and use their art form to depict stories or theme from their everyday life.
