He is the fourth generation of the Gibbons family to paint and sculpt, starting from his Great Grandfather. So, art truly flows through his veins. Having served this toughest of apprenticeships’ Nathan now works from his small studio in Berkshire where he specialises in creating single large, realistic statement pieces in oils over several months.
His subjects and styles cover the whole spectrum from abstraction and knife-work, through impressionist landscapes, people and places to incredible realist paintings of dancers. He is a keen and accomplished dancer and so understands and translates the rhythm, movement and passion of dance to the canvas as though he were dancing it himself.
