When the children were older I took the City and Guilds course in Creative Embroidery, and this led to my interest in painting. I have no Art School training but regularly attend local art classes including those arranged by Maidenhead Painting Club. I also belong to Cookham Arts Club. I exhibit regularly at shows organised by these clubs.
When I first started painting my favourite subject was flowers as I am also a keen gardener. When the grandchildren came along I painted several children's pictures. Nowadays I paint landscapes; and I also enjoy painting semi abstracts, often incorporating bits of fabric and thread saved from my embroidery days.
I have taken part in "Art on the Street" since it began, and I really enjoy the comradery and the atmosphere.
