Drawings of small joys and big adventures
When and how did you become an artist?
I've always loved art, ever since I was little and used to carry around a fairly cool mini portable drawing desk...
I studied History of Art at university, but deep down I think my preference has always been for creating rather than observing.
As an adult, my dream is to make drawing and design a bigger part of my life. I have lots of plans for making this happen, but I'm taking small steps!
Who or what are your inspirations and why?
I love work by contemporary illustrators such as Emma Block and Anna Bond, and I initially reignited my interest in drawing after stumbling across the blog of American artist, Julianna Swaney.
I generally draw inspiration from food produce, the natural world, and places I've been (from flower markets to city strolls).
If you could go for a drink with anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why?
I don't think I could narrow this down to one person, but the first person right now that comes to mind is Emma Watson - because being the UN Ambassador for women, and Hermione Granger is pretty cool.
