Sum up your work in a sentence:
When books, text and words collide with Art.
When and how did you become an artist?
I've always loved art but never considered myself an artist until I started my BA in Fine Art in 2010. Over the three year course I found my style and haven't looked back since. I now teach art hopefully inspiring the next generation.
According to one of my students (he's 8) I must be the most amazing artist ever because my work is cool and I make art fun! So hopefully I'm doing something right.
Who or what are your inspirations and why?
I'm heavily influenced by words and books. It comes from my love of reading. Books are a huge part of my life it only seems right that they are a big part of my art practice too!
If you could go for a drink with anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why?
If I could go for a drink with anyone living or dead who would it be is possibly one of the hardest questions I've been asked in a while. The artist in me want to say Van Gogh, he's my favourite artist. I'd loved to have sat at the bar in Arles and listened to his ramblings. But then the non artist part of me would love to have a drink with the queen. I recon she would be a real laugh.
